About the position
The Direct Sales Representative at Summit Business Group is responsible for managing their own schedule and territory to provide supplemental insurance solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. This role emphasizes building strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored insurance products. The position requires proactive engagement with potential clients through cold calls and in-person visits, utilizing Salesforce CRM for effective client management. The representative will also provide ongoing support during the claims process, ensuring clients feel valued and understood.
Responsibilities
- Forge lasting relationships with business owners and key stakeholders.
- Understand client needs and present tailored insurance solutions.
- Engage directly with potential clients through cold calls and in-person visits.
- Maintain relationships through effective communication and support during the claims process.
- Respond to general emails and phone calls from clients.
- Set follow-up appointments with prospective and current clients.
- Call on new businesses, referrals, and existing clients for servicing.
- Build and maintain a personal book of business.
- Submit daily sales metrics and activity reports.
- Participate in scheduled calls or meetings with the sales team or manager.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sales or customer-facing roles, preferably in outside sales.
- Ability to conduct full training cycles, both in-person and online.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- A deep desire to assist and empower clients, showing genuine concern for their well-being.
- Health & Life general lines license, or willingness to obtain it within 90 days.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years of professional work experience.
- Experience working with high schoolers.
