About the position

The Sales Counselor is responsible for selling homes within the community by engaging with established customers and developing new prospects. This role involves planning, directing, organizing, and implementing marketing strategies to achieve defined sales goals and move-in objectives. The Sales Counselor will work as part of a sales and marketing team to meet weekly lead contacts and monthly sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and utilizes an effective plan of lead follow-up including telephone contact and personal appointments.
  • Shows apartments and the retirement community to prospective residents, guests, and others.
  • Maintains customer contact documentation for each prospect and oversees the qualification process for level of interest and urgency.
  • Assesses client eligibility regarding physical, financial, and social criteria and assists prospective customers through the decision-making process.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate, complete, and up-to-date sales-related documents, including contracts and unit inventory records.
  • Develops leads from sources other than advertising and direct mail, including community outreach and networking.
  • Prepares timely sales reports including traffic reports and lead sources.
  • Helps develop and present visual and oral presentations for promotional events.
  • Assists with special event planning and implementation.
  • Contributes to the planning, research, and writing of the community's marketing plans.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; advanced education in sales and marketing preferred.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in marketing, advertising, communications, sales, leasing, promotion, or public relations required.
  • Proven expertise in relationship sales required; senior housing sales experience desired.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or applicable software preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
