About the position

The Sales & Customer Service Associate role at The UPS Store involves providing exceptional customer service and sales support in a retail environment. The position requires effective communication skills, the ability to handle customer inquiries, and proficiency in operating Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. Associates will work full-time, including rotating weekends, and are expected to maintain a strong work ethic and dependability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Handle sales transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and provide information about services and products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Lift and move packages as needed, up to 70 pounds.
  • Complete customer paperwork accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least six months to two years of customer service and/or sales experience in a retail environment.
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and computer operations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy with customers in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity to operate POS systems and other equipment.
