About the position

The Sales Design Engineer (SDE) at Diversified plays a crucial role in the pre-sales process by collaborating with Account Executives to provide technical expertise for various opportunity types, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Design-Build, and Design Consulting. The SDE is responsible for delivering all technical documentation required for each opportunity, which includes a complete bill of materials with pricing, labor estimates, and detailed scopes of work. This position requires the SDE to attend both in-person and virtual customer meetings, ensuring that they are well-versed in the customers' existing workflows, business needs, and technology strategies to design effective solutions that enhance the end-user experience. In addition to technical deliverables, the SDE will engage in discovery meetings to gather information about customer requirements and may conduct site surveys to obtain necessary design details. The role demands the ability to conceptualize and articulate technology solutions to customers with varying levels of technical knowledge. The SDE will also review RFPs, identify potential concerns, and submit technical RFIs as needed during the bidding process. Furthermore, the SDE will collaborate with internal teams to ensure that the solutions designed are feasible and supported by the technical operations team. The SDE is expected to maintain effective communication with Account Executives and customers throughout the project lifecycle, from initial meetings to the handoff to the Design Engineer after contract award. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to provide high-quality deliverables consistently.
