About the position

The Sales Development Manager at BILL is responsible for leading the Inbound Sales Development team, driving sales strategy, and executing initiatives to enhance the Growth Sales Funnel. This role involves managing a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs), optimizing lead generation processes, and collaborating closely with marketing to ensure effective demand generation and lead conversion. The position is based in Draper, Utah, and supports a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Aggressively scale the Business Development organization.
  • Hire, train, coach, and motivate a BDR team.
  • Work closely with the sales operations team to build a metrics-driven lead generation machine.
  • Develop a close partnership with marketing teams for seamless collaboration between demand generation and lead conversion efforts.
  • Translate market and customer insights into feedback to influence the product roadmap.
  • Manage BDRs through a structured lead generation process focusing on data-driven KPIs.
  • Create call coaching and development plans to increase productivity and qualified meetings.

Requirements

  • Proven sales management track record of hiring, training, coaching, and motivating a BDR team for a minimum of one year.
  • Experience leading a team of 8+ Sales Development/Business Development/Marketing Development Representatives.
  • Deeply analytical with a proven ability to foster data-driven sales cultures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of lead generation techniques and processes.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com, Outreach.io, Drift, and other leading sales and marketing tools.
  • Superior leadership and management skills including communication, excellence, transparency, collaboration, and mentoring.
  • Customer-centric point of view with a passion for delighting customers.
  • Strong product sensibility with a proven track record collaborating with products.

  • SaaS software experience is a plus, but not required.
