About the position

The Sales Development Representative 2 (SDR-2) at TEKsystems is a pivotal role designed to initiate and execute the early stages of the sales process. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in B2B sales, particularly within the IT Talent Solutions and Services industry. The SDR-2 will undergo an extensive 10-week training program that combines online learning, business role plays, and real-time sales scenarios to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. After completing the training, the SDR-2 will be responsible for researching and building targeted customer call sheets using tools like LinkedIn, as well as documenting and tracking leads from the Recruiter Lead Program. This role requires a proactive approach to outreach, where the SDR-2 will perform regular follow-ups and document their weekly activities to ensure a steady pipeline of potential clients. In addition to lead generation, the SDR-2 will collaborate closely with the Director of Business Operations to utilize the Inward Lens tool for identifying lost customers, thereby creating opportunities for re-engagement. Success in this role is not only measured by the ability to generate leads but also by the potential for career advancement. High-performing SDR-2s can expect to be promoted to Account Manager, where they will take on additional responsibilities such as developing and managing customer relationships, increasing sales and market share, and preparing effective sales proposals. Responsibilities

  • Research and build call sheets of targeted customers in the market using tools like LinkedIn.
  • Document, track, and research all leads coming in from the Recruiter Lead Program.
  • Build overall customer profiles and talk tracks for each customer using tools like Seismic and Gong.
  • Perform outreach to the targeted customer list and document weekly activity.
  • Partner with the Director of Business Operations to identify lost customers and generate new meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Military experience OR Associates Degree with 3 years of professional experience OR 4 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Sales Experience OR Degree in Sales OR Sales Internship Experience OR Active membership in a Collegiate Sales Club/ Organization.
  • A strong desire for a career in B2B Sales.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for negotiations.
  • A sense of urgency, excellent presentation skills, and a high standard of professionalism and character.
  • The ability to overcome obstacles and collaborate with others to accomplish goals.
  • A strong propensity to learn.
