About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Malk Partners will focus on selling ESG solutions to private market firms. This role is essential for generating new business opportunities and establishing relationships with firms prioritizing sustainability and governance. The SDR will be the first point of contact for potential clients, responsible for prospecting, engaging, and qualifying leads to support the sales team in expanding the client base. Success in this position requires a solid understanding of ESG trends and private market dynamics, along with the ability to effectively communicate the value of ESG integration to financial institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Research, identify, and engage key decision-makers within private markets firms that may benefit from ESG solutions.
  • Utilize a variety of outbound tactics (emails, LinkedIn outreach, etc.) to initiate contact and spark interest in the Malk offering.
  • Schedule meetings or demos with qualified prospects for the sales team and ensure a smooth handoff for deeper engagement.
  • Track leads and opportunities in the CRM (Salesforce) ensuring all client information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Work closely with the sales, marketing, and delivery teams to refine outreach strategies, provide feedback on messaging, and contribute to campaigns targeting the private markets.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in ESG and private markets as well as relevant regulatory developments (e.g., SFDR, TCFD).
  • Assist the sales team by reaching out to attendees of ESG or private markets-focused events, webinars, and conferences.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a sales development, business development, or lead generation role, preferably in financial services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ESG solutions clearly.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple leads and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Understanding of private markets and their investment structures, strategies, and motivations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ESG principles, sustainable investing, and related regulatory requirements (e.g., ESG reporting standards, SFDR, PRI).

  • Prior experience in selling to private markets is a plus.
  • Eagerness to learn about ESG trends and stay current on industry developments.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $90,000 OTE (On Target Earnings) 75k base + 15k commission
  • Hybrid work model: In-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
