The Sales Development Representative (SDR) role at Confluent focuses on outbound prospecting within the public sector, aiming to identify and cultivate opportunities for the company's innovative data streaming technology solutions. Responsibilities

  • Execute outbound prospecting strategies to identify potential clients within the public sector, including government agencies, educational institutions, and healthcare organizations.
  • Utilize calling, emailing, and LinkedIn for direct engagement with prospects to qualify leads.
  • Conduct initial discovery sessions to understand the needs and challenges of prospects, presenting our technology solutions as viable options.
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to ensure smooth transition of qualified leads for further development.
  • Participate in ongoing sales training and professional development to enhance sales skills and knowledge of our technology products and services.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly quotas of qualified opportunities.

Requirements

  • 1+ years with a proven track record in an inside sales or similar role focused on outbound prospecting.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes and ability to adapt to different sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and persuade decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to conduct research to find new leads.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prospects and maintain detailed records of sales activities.
  • Goal-oriented, with a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
