About the position

Honeycomb Credit is a loan crowdfunding website that unlocks capital for small businesses from an unconventional and innovative source—their fans, friends, and community. By crowdfunding a small business loan, entrepreneurs create deeper relationships with their community and investors earn a return while supporting local businesses they love. It's a true win-win! We are looking for highly energetic, go-getters to engage and excite small business owners about Honeycomb and the power of community capital! In this role, you will be responsible for communicating with small business owners across multiple channels to attract new prospects to the platform. You will be the first touchpoint for prospects and will have a large impact on the customer acquisition process and success of the organization. As an ideal candidate, you are an overachiever with an orientation to results, passionate about small businesses, outgoing and inquisitive, self-motivated and results-driven, not afraid to cold call, excited by the energy and flexibility of working at an early stage startup, collaborative, and open to trying new things. You should also be great at taking notes and tracking activity.

Responsibilities

  • Crafting engaging outbound email campaigns and videos
  • Cold calling
  • Designing and running experiments to improve outbound and inbound sales
  • Handing off leads to account executives
  • Utilizing our CRM (Hubspot) for tracking and reporting purposes
  • Working closely with marketing and sales teams to create and execute multi-channel campaigns
  • Support and manage small business owners' crowdfunding campaigns from launch to funding
  • Interface with the sales, marketing, compliance, and operations teams to ensure campaigns are launching in a timely manner and reaching their funding goals
  • Build on our existing customer success tools to drive investment in our customers' campaigns
  • Engage our investor audience through social media, email, and events both through Honeycomb's owned channels and indirectly through our customers' reach
  • Work with our operations team to maintain a positive working relationship between business owners, investors, and Honeycomb throughout the repayment of the loan

Requirements

  • 0-3+ years of experience in customer success, sales, customer support, marketing, or social media
  • Experience working with or around small businesses
  • Excitement for our mission of creating financially empowered communities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working face to face (virtually!) with small business owners
  • Experience in a customer support, customer success, sales, or marketing role
  • Familiarity with social media and email marketing
  • Process-minded but flexible and collaborative
  • Comfortable dealing with the ambiguity of working in a fast-paced startup
  • Accountable to personal and team goals

Nice-to-haves

  • Bonus if you have worked in the food and beverage industry
  • Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have worked in a high-growth startup environment before
  • Can demonstrate a track record of hitting goals and growing professionally
  • Have experience in lending, crowdfunding, or fundraising
  • Have worked in an independently owned small business!
  • Located in Pittsburgh, Chicago, Philadelphia, or New York City
