About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) role is an entry-level hybrid sales position aimed at equipping individuals with the necessary training and skills to succeed in SAGE's U.S. College Sales division. The SDR will focus on enhancing their selling abilities, communication, and collaboration skills while working closely with the sales team to engage potential customers and promote SAGE's educational content.

Responsibilities

  • Make a high volume of outbound phone calls to Sage customers using content moving into new editions
  • Generate interest in key technology products such as SAGE Vantage and set discovery appointments and product demonstrations for others
  • Help build and refine our sales pipeline with cold calling and strategic e-mail methodology
  • Ensure an accurate flow of data is maintained and updated in our Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relations Management system
  • Drive high customer satisfaction with a problem-solving attitude and collaborative spirit
  • Set follow-up commitments and complete appropriate follow-up in a timely manner
  • Learn about SAGE's U.S. College territories, customers, and competitors to achieve ongoing growth and success
  • Attend the Thousand Oaks office in-person a minimum of two to eight times per month depending on circumstances
  • Some travel to sales meetings may be required

Requirements

  • Completion of College Level coursework as a matriculated student in a 2 year or 4 year program
  • Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with Videoconferencing applications such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills
  • Superior time management and organizational skills, along with a strong attention to detail

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years of sales or customer service in a professional setting
  • Experience interacting with a high volume of clients over the phone
  • Experience working within a CRM
