About the position

The Sales Development Representative I at GAF Materials Corporation plays a vital role in enhancing the company's presence in the Commercial Roofing industry. This entry-level position focuses on maximizing sales opportunities through direct product sales, lead qualification, and customer engagement. The representative will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure bid and job securement while supporting strategic sales growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Increase sales by monitoring job activity on websites.
  • Cold call building owners, property managers, and other roofing contacts.
  • Qualify leads provided internally via marketing and field sales reps.
  • Generate new and repeat sales by driving specification opportunities through cold calling campaigns.
  • Determine customer needs and present insights to recommend specific products and solutions.
  • Proactively sell items needed by customers to increase profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Understand product selling stories to build customer loyalty.
  • Utilize SalesForce to maintain detailed notes on existing and potential customers.
  • Educate customers about product features and benefits to improve sales and satisfaction.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and resolve issues.
  • Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
  • Create and maintain customer files in SalesForce on new targets/accounts.
  • Maintain industry knowledge by reading trade publications and attending relevant events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required or 3-5 years related experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Google Business Suite.
  • Experience with SalesForce is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of consumer preferences and product developments.
  • Advanced knowledge of order life cycle and commercial sales cycle.
  • Strong professional communication and presentation skills via phone, email, and in person.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
