About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Datasite plays a crucial role in the Sales team by following up on leads generated through various marketing and business development initiatives. The primary focus is to identify qualified prospects interested in Datasite's solutions, particularly the Virtual Data Room (VDR) product, and pass these opportunities to the Sales function for further development. This position requires effective communication, relationship-building, and a strong understanding of the market and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve daily contact goals along with monthly Qualified Sales Opportunities and meeting goals
  • Collaborate effectively with internal end clients - field sales representatives
  • Deliver key promotional messages to a sophisticated target audience primarily through telephone contact and emails
  • Manage large pipelines of prospective leads and report on pipeline progress in review meetings with management
  • Maintain accurate records of all KPI activity in CRM system (Salesforce) and report KPI information, sales leads, and customer profiles correctly and accurately in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Product development to develop a better understanding of our target markets' needs, as well as key competitor strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop a high level of market, industry, and role knowledge to enable peer-to-peer conversations and understand customer needs and requirements
  • Build rapport and relationships with internal and external customers through prompt, courteous, efficient, and professional service

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree required (Sales, Marketing or Business focus preferred)
  • 1 - 2+ years sales experience
  • Experience in lead generating/appointment-making, with a solution-based approach helpful
  • Client service or telephone sales experience with solution selling methodology
  • Demonstrated experience of meeting and exceeding targets
  • Previous experience in a technology SaaS company would be a great advantage
  • Ideal background in the financial services/legal sectors

Nice-to-haves

  • A strong, natural interest in finance would be an advantage
  • Previous CRM experience (Salesforce) highly desirable
  • Additional language skills highly regarded
