This includes selling display ideas, introducing new products, and managing product placements and promotions. Maintaining product levels in accounts is also a key responsibility, which involves taking inventory and restocking shelves where legally permissible. The representative will ensure maximum brand visibility within accounts by utilizing effective point of sale materials and will be responsible for obtaining payments from accounts, where legally permissible. Educating account staff through training seminars on the brands is another important aspect of the role. Additionally, the representative will service accounts by delivering products in extenuating circumstances and addressing customer issues, referring them to management as necessary. Strategic planning is essential in this role, as the representative will need to understand company pricing and product programming information on a monthly basis. This understanding will help in strategizing how to achieve sales and merchandising objectives effectively. The representative will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with national account requirements and maintaining accurate historical account purchase information. Achieving performance goals set by management, managing customer account receivables, and staying informed about company and supplier activities through participation in weekly sales meetings are also critical components of this position.
