About the position

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at STS Education, you will be instrumental in expanding the company's reach within the K-12 education sector. This role serves as the first point of contact for potential clients, where you will identify their needs and introduce them to innovative solutions. The position is ideal for ambitious individuals looking to enter a growing tech market, requiring a strong work ethic and a commitment to achieving high goals.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research potential leads within the K-12 education sector, focusing on public districts, charter schools, and sometimes individual schools.
  • Conduct cold calls, emails, and social media outreach to introduce STS Education's offerings and set up meetings with potential clients.
  • Assess and qualify leads based on their needs, budget, and decision-making process.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, ensuring timely follow-up and continuous engagement.
  • Work closely with the Account Executive team to hand off qualified leads and support the sales process.
  • Meet and exceed weekly and monthly goals for lead generation, outreach, and appointments set.
  • Gather and share insights from outreach to help refine messaging, product offerings, and overall strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant inside sales prospecting experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • Understanding of K-12 school districts and key personnel preferred.
  • Familiarity with K-12 educational technology products preferred.
