About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at BigCommerce plays a crucial role in driving the company's growth by engaging with prospects, understanding their challenges, and offering tailored solutions. This position focuses on generating a solid pipeline of qualified leads for Mid-Market and Enterprise Corporations, with success measured by the number of leads generated and the ability to exceed quotas. The SDR will employ various sales methodologies and maintain detailed records of sales activities to support the sales team effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospects to learn about their challenges and offer solutions.
  • Generate a solid pipeline of qualified leads with a quota for leads per month.
  • Perform outbound sales activities such as cold calling and messaging.
  • Employ sales methodologies to connect with key decision makers.
  • Adjust messaging and tone to fit various audiences and settings.
  • Assess complex business structures and challenges.
  • Establish trust and rapport to acquire important sales information.
  • Tailor solutions to fit the unique needs of each prospect.
  • Maintain a CRM with detailed and accurate notes of all sales activities.
  • Develop and track forecasts and pipelines to meet goals.
  • Collaborate with the team to position BigCommerce for sales wins.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a sales role with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Foundational knowledge of sales methodologies and proficiency with solution selling.
  • Keen understanding of SaaS or eCommerce is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Zoominfo, Salesforce, Outreach or similar is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business or related field is a plus.
