About the position

The Sales Development Representative at CMA CGM plays a crucial role in supporting a commercial region or customer segment. This position serves as the primary contact for all customer rate inquiries related to import or export cargo. The representative is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of trade lanes to effectively grow market share. This involves partnering with field sales and collaborating with trade/line management to provide accurate quotations, organizing and expediting customer contracts, and ensuring that all agreed terms and conditions are properly constructed and filed. The role requires quick resolution of issues to minimize service failures or loss of business, thereby supporting the overall business strategy of CMA CGM. In this Sales Support role, the representative will focus on the customer segments of SNVO. A thorough knowledge of both import and export services is essential, along with the ability to communicate rate negotiations effectively with trade/line management on behalf of customers and field representatives. The representative will work closely with field sales to promote trade/line initiatives, which may include campaigns, eBusiness, and value-added services. This involves growing the customer profile by researching and identifying market opportunities, gathering competitive intelligence, qualifying sales leads, and shipping opportunities via NOVA Business. Additionally, the representative will develop and maintain customer and trade-lane specific business plans, submit customer credit applications, and manage rate request quotes through the company's CRM system. The role also includes customer volume forecasting and structuring contract proposals for trade approval and FMC filing. The representative will produce and analyze sales reports, compile and collaborate with sales/trade/line management on expiring bullets, MQC shortfalls, and expiring contracts.
