The Sales Development Representative at Gunton Corporation plays a crucial role in supporting the sales team through outbound cold calling efforts. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to develop their sales skills and contribute to the growth of the company. The primary responsibility is to conduct a minimum of 80 outbound calls or touchpoints each day, successfully scheduling and transitioning appointments to Outside Sales Representatives. This role is not only about making calls but also about achieving individual and team-oriented success metrics that are essential for the overall success of the organization. By consistently hitting performance metrics, there is a targeted pathway for promotion to an Outside Sales Representative role within one year. In addition to making calls, the Sales Development Representative will manage the input of information into the Gunton customer account management system, ensuring that records are up-to-date and accurate. Developing extensive product knowledge and understanding the sales processes of both Pella and Gunton is vital. The representative will conduct research to fill their call schedule, which includes identifying potential accounts, gathering contact information, and understanding the nature of businesses and services offered in their territory. This role also involves learning to prepare a compelling “Value Proposition” for customers, explaining how Gunton Corporation can enhance their profitability. The position may also include opportunities to travel with outside sales staff to gain firsthand experience in field sales processes, sales techniques, and product application and installation. Monthly visits to permit offices to inquire about new building permits issued are also part of the responsibilities. Throughout all activities, the Sales Development Representative is expected to uphold the highest standards of personal ethics and adhere to all company policies. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the manager as needed.
