About the position

The position is responsible for maintaining an understanding of trade lanes to effectively help grow market share. The role involves qualifying sales leads, partnering with field sales, and managing customer contracts to ensure proper construction and filing of agreed terms and conditions. The individual will work to promote line/trade initiatives, develop customer profiles, and manage rate/contract negotiations while ensuring compliance with departmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain understanding of trade lanes to help grow market share.
  • Qualify sales leads and grow BCO/NVO active customer base within the sales territory.
  • Partner with field sales to provide quotations to customer requests.
  • Maintain customer contracts and ensure proper construction and filing of agreed T&C and rates.
  • Work with Field Sales Representative to promote line/trade initiatives including campaigns and priority services.
  • Communicate with line/trade management regarding customer volume forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain customer and trade-lane specific business plans to achieve volume budgets.
  • Research and identify market opportunities for US Business Clients.
  • Qualify cold calls to grow current BCO/NVOCC active customer base.
  • Develop quality presentations and gather competitive intelligence on customer preferences.
  • Provide volume reports as needed and promote/sell VAS products to targeted customers.
  • Complete customer visits when necessary and manage overall knowledge of Import/Export services for rate negotiations.
  • Work with Regional Sales Representative to complete regional bids and set up quotes/contracts as required.
  • Follow up on rates and ensure compliance with GRI, PSS, RRI, and other contractual obligations.
  • Prepare quotes/contracts for filing and maintain third-party applications like GTN and Bravo.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for LISA-related support and provide training to end users.
  • Perform customer onboarding and assist in dispute and collection efforts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience required, preferably in inside sales, sales, or customer service.
  • Minimum 1 year transportation industry experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of commercial and financial jargon of international trade.
  • Access knowledge preferred.
