About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Alteryx plays a crucial role as an extension of the Field Sales organization, focusing on generating qualified sales opportunities. This position involves responding to marketing-generated leads, managing inbound interest, and executing targeted outbound prospecting. SDRs work closely with Account Executives to develop strategic prospecting plans aimed at uncovering new business opportunities and expanding existing customer relationships. Additionally, SDRs are responsible for managing small deals and renewals within their assigned territories. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, the ability to quickly assess and understand a prospect's business environment, and the capability to articulate the business value of Alteryx's offerings. Ideal candidates for the SDR position are those who can easily engage with and establish rapport with executives and professionals across various lines of business. The role demands a proactive approach, with the expectation of making over 50 dials daily while maintaining a systematic yet flexible work style. Candidates should be self-directed, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple work streams, and possess the perseverance to handle objections and rejection. Thriving in a competitive team environment is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Responsibilities

  • Generate qualified sales opportunities through responding to marketing-generated leads and inbound interest.
  • Conduct targeted outbound prospecting to establish new business relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to develop prospecting plans for strategic accounts.
  • Manage small deals and renewals within assigned territories.
  • Assess and understand the business environment and needs of prospects and customers.
  • Articulate the business value of Alteryx's solutions effectively to potential clients.
  • Make 50+ dials daily to engage with prospects and build relationships.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B enterprise software telesales or business development experience.
  • Consultative and solution prospecting/selling expertise.
  • Experience in marketing lead nurture and qualification.
  • Proven history of effectively managing a large territory and high volume of leads.
  • Superior written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience conducting account mapping and developing prospecting strategies.
  • Self-directed with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple work streams.
  • Perseverance in handling objections and rejection.
  • Ability to thrive in a competitive team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience prospecting and selling enterprise software solutions, Business Intelligence, or Analytics software.
