About the position

As a Sales Development Representative at J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc., you will be part of the Sales Academy program, designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the sales field. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while engaging in a structured training program that equips you with the skills necessary to excel in sales. You will be responsible for making outbound calls to potential customers, uncovering their needs, and scheduling follow-up appointments for Sales Representatives. This role is critical to the company's growth and profitability, as you will be the first point of contact for many of our nationwide customers, helping them understand the value of our products and services. In this position, you will actively participate in various learning opportunities that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application. You will learn to qualify accounts, identify sales opportunities, and manage leads effectively. Your success will be measured not only by your ability to sell assigned products and services but also by your capacity to resolve customer service issues and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions. The role is designed for energetic, goal-driven individuals who are passionate about helping others and are looking for a rewarding career in sales. The compensation for this role includes a guaranteed base salary of $44,000 annually, with the potential to earn an additional $3,000 through monthly sales contests and recognition programs. Upon successful completion of the Sales Academy program, you will also receive a graduation bonus of $2,500. This position offers a clear path for advancement within the company, allowing you to define your sales career and become an elite sales associate.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the Sales Academy program, engaging in learning opportunities and applying skills.
  • Uncover customer needs and place products/services for follow-up by a Sales Representative.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments for the Sales Representative as appropriate.
  • Sell assigned products/services using an outbound calling approach.
  • Qualify accounts to determine sales opportunities and identify additional contacts/buyers.
  • Forward leads to other sales areas when opportunities are identified.
  • Organize and manage leads to capitalize on placement and sales opportunities, ensuring all leads are contacted based on cycle criteria.
  • Service all customers, internal and external, in a professional manner.
  • Resolve customer service problems to the mutual satisfaction of both the company and the customer.
  • Accurately complete and process documentation related to customer transactions.

Requirements

  • Customer interaction experience (such as sales support, retail sales, hospitality, food service, customer service, etc.)
  • High School degree or equivalent (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • Articulate, personable, and conversational skills
  • Ability to apply a scripted call process
  • Acceptance and application of coaching

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in inside sales or account management
