About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at R+L Global Logistics plays a vital role in the sales process by identifying and qualifying potential customers through outbound prospecting activities. The primary objective is to convert Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) by engaging with prospects through various communication channels. This position serves as an entry point to becoming an Account Executive within the sales organization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound prospecting activities to generate leads and identify potential customers.
  • Research and qualify leads to understand their business needs, challenges, and buying behavior.
  • Engage with prospects via phone calls, emails, social media, and other channels to introduce company products or services.
  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria, and set up appointments or demonstrations for the sales team.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions and activities in the CRM system.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to strategize on outreach campaigns, and target key accounts.
  • Continuously learn about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings to better position company solutions.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly quotas for lead generation and qualification.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Proven experience in outbound sales, business development, or customer-facing roles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales automation tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated goal-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Persistence and resilience to handle rejection and overcome obstacles.
  • Outgoing personality with a willingness to engage with prospects and customers.
  • Ability to thrive, both independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing unmatched customer service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
