Aligned Tek, a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking a proactive and results-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our dynamic sales team. As a Sales Development Representative, you will play a crucial role in the sales process, responsible for generating and qualifying leads to support the growth of our client base. Your primary focus will be on initiating contact with potential customers, understanding their needs and challenges, and setting appointments for the sales team. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives to ensure a seamless transition of leads and contribute to the overall sales strategy. This position requires a strong customer-centric approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team-driven environment. In this role, you will be responsible for lead generation through various channels, including research, cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and networking events. You will engage in meaningful conversations with potential clients to identify their business objectives and IT requirements, effectively qualifying leads for further follow-up. Additionally, you will manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, accurately recording and updating lead information and interactions. Staying informed about industry trends and competitors will be essential to effectively communicate the value of our MSP services to prospects. You will also track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics to assess individual and team performance, helping to refine strategies for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and source new sales leads through various channels, including research, cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and networking events.
  • Engage in meaningful conversations with potential clients to identify their business objectives, challenges, and IT requirements, effectively qualifying leads for further follow-up.
  • Schedule appointments and product demonstrations for Account Executives, ensuring a steady flow of qualified leads into the sales pipeline.
  • Accurately record and update lead information, interactions, and progress in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to effectively communicate the value of our MSP services to prospects.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team, sharing valuable insights and feedback to improve the sales process and overall business strategy.
  • Consistently track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics to assess individual and team performance, helping to refine strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with our MSP's service offerings, advancements in the IT industry, and sales techniques to maintain a competitive edge and contribute to business growth.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a sales development or inside sales role, preferably within the IT industry or technology-related services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong customer service orientation, actively listening to prospects' needs, and offering tailored solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring timely follow-ups and consistent lead nurturing.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with IT services, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and other managed services is a plus.
  • Resilient and determined in pursuing leads and overcoming objections to achieve sales goals.
  • A degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
