About the position

The position involves cultivating the pipeline by engaging with inbound state and local education (SLED) marketing leads generated from various marketing activities such as webinars, tradeshows, and whitepapers. The role requires driving registrations for federal events, qualifying leads, and developing a lead qualification plan to meet monthly and quarterly targets. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for making outbound cold calls, assisting with customer inquiries, and understanding the challenges faced by customers in the industry. Participation in training sessions and capturing accurate information in the CRM system is also expected.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate the pipeline by calling on inbound SLED marketing leads from various sources.
  • Drive registrations for federal events through proactive outreach.
  • Qualify all assigned inbound SLED leads and establish an action plan.
  • Develop and accomplish a lead qualification/generation plan to meet quota targets.
  • Research and prospect to make outbound cold calls.
  • Assist with answering and evaluating prospective customer calls.
  • Focus on understanding the customer's industry and challenges.
  • Articulate the breadth of SolarWinds' product portfolio.
  • Participate in sales program training sessions and professional development.
  • Capture accurate information in the CRM system.
  • Cooperate with marketing and sales management for strategic approaches.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 or more years of business experience, preferably in a results-oriented or inside sales role.
  • Passion for selling, preferably with IT industry or SLED background.
  • Enthusiastic and self-starting approach.
  • Demonstrable record of lead pass or sales success against a quota.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies and SolarWinds business environment preferred.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office/Exchange and Salesforce.
  • Ability to work closely with SLED marketing and sales team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the IT industry.
  • Background in SLED sales.
