About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Benson Systems is a crucial role focused on driving new business opportunities through proactive outreach. This position involves managing outbound prospecting efforts, booking meetings, and building relationships with potential clients. The SDR will work closely with an experienced Account Executive, gaining mentorship and the opportunity for career advancement within the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a cold outbound sales funnel to identify and engage new business prospects.
  • Conduct cold calls, craft cold email campaigns, and use other outreach strategies to book meetings with potential clients.
  • Collaborate with your AE to ensure smooth lead hand-offs and alignment on target accounts.
  • Independently create and iterate on call scripts, email templates, and other outreach strategies.
  • Take initiative to research and target new territories, clients, and industries.
  • Meet or exceed set targets for meetings booked and leads qualified.
  • Stay informed on the company's offerings, particularly in fire protection and video surveillance.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as an SDR or in a similar outbound-focused sales role.
  • Proven ability to create and manage a successful outbound lead generation process, with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated success in booking meetings through cold outreach (cold calling and emailing).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to handle a variety of outbound tasks without needing extensive direction.
  • Experience in the fire protection or video surveillance industry is a plus but not required.
  • Hunger to succeed and grow into more advanced sales roles like AE.
