About the position

ISSA is the leading trade association for the cleaning industry worldwide, dedicated to changing the way the world views cleaning. The association represents a diverse range of businesses, organizations, and professionals across the entire cleaning industry chain, including manufacturers, manufacturer representatives, wholesalers, distributors, in-house service providers, building service contractors, residential cleaners, and more. The primary objective of the Sales Development Representative position is to increase revenue through direct relationships with prospects, current customers, and members. A qualified candidate will successfully drive new business by qualifying each lead and providing tailored solutions to meet customer needs. In this role, the Sales Development Representative must be organized and adept at utilizing the SalesForce platform to track the entire sales process throughout the customer journey. The position often requires cold calling and networking with current customers to uncover new opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting and identifying potential customers to generate new business, managing leads and sales activities through a CRM tool, and selling membership, educational, and certification programs using a consultative sales approach. Additionally, nurturing and closing leads, discovering and recommending new product ideas based on customer needs, and achieving and exceeding sales performance goals are key responsibilities. Maintaining strong business relationships with customers and attending events and tradeshows to generate leads are also essential components of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and identify potential customers to generate new business.

Requirements

  • Ability to work within an office or remote setting.
  • Proficient in CRM and/or AMS software.
  • Associates degree in business administration or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in sales, customer service, or account management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with trade associations or a similar not-for-profit environment.
  • Knowledge of the cleaning, facilities management, and/or restoration industry.
