About the position

At CarGurus, our mission is to empower individuals to reach their destination, and as a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will play a crucial role in this journey. The SDR position is designed to help build a robust pipeline for our sales team by following up on inbound dealer requests and prospecting for new dealerships that are not yet familiar with CarGurus. You will be responsible for making contact with these dealers, introducing them to our free listings service, and assisting them in getting their inventory listed on our site. This role is pivotal in gathering essential contact and opportunity information, creating leads, and forwarding them to the sales team for further engagement. In this dynamic position, you will utilize tools such as Salesforce and Google to uncover new prospects and convert them into advertisers on CarGurus. Your ability to engage each new prospect effectively will be key, ensuring they fully understand the value and benefits we provide. Building strong business relationships and identifying new sales opportunities for our Account Executives will be part of your daily responsibilities. You will need to demonstrate persistence and tenacity, overcoming obstacles and handling objections as they arise. Meeting or exceeding assigned quotas and key performance metrics will be essential to your success in this role, and you will be expected to log all sales activities accurately in Salesforce. Responsibilities

  • Follow up on inbound dealer requests and prospect for new dealerships.
  • Make contact with dealers to introduce them to our free listings service.
  • Assist dealers in getting their inventory listed on CarGurus.com.
  • Gather basic contact and opportunity information to create leads for the sales team.
  • Engage new prospects to ensure they understand the benefits of our services.
  • Develop business relationships and build new sales opportunities for Account Executives.
  • Demonstrate persistence and the ability to overcome obstacles and handle objections.
  • Meet or exceed all assigned quotas and key performance metrics.
  • Log all sales activity completely and accurately in Salesforce.
