About the position

The position is responsible for maintaining an understanding of trade lanes to effectively grow market share. The role involves qualifying sales leads, expanding the BCO/NVO customer base, and collaborating with field sales to provide quotations and manage customer contracts. The individual will also engage in market growth initiatives, manage rate contracts, and enhance customer experience through onboarding and support processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain understanding of trade lanes to help grow market share.
  • Qualify sales leads and grow the BCO/NVO active customer base within the sales territory.
  • Partner with field sales to provide quotations to customer requests.
  • Maintain customer contracts ensuring proper construction and filing of agreed terms and conditions.
  • Work with Field Sales Representative to promote line/trade initiatives including campaigns and priority services.
  • Communicate with line/trade management regarding customer volume forecasting to ensure full vessel capacity.
  • Develop and maintain customer and trade-lane specific business plans to achieve or exceed weekly volume budgets.
  • Research and identify market opportunities for US Business Clients.
  • Qualify an assigned number of cold calls per quarter to grow the current BCO/NVOCC active customer base.
  • Develop quality presentations and gather competitive intelligence on customer preferences.
  • Provide volume reports as needed and promote/sell VAS products to targeted customers.
  • Complete customer visits when necessary and manage overall knowledge of Import/Export services for negotiations.
  • Work with Regional Sales Representative to complete regional bids and set up quotes and contracts as required.
  • Follow up on rates through dashboards and ensure compliance with GRI, PSS, RRI, and Shipper pools.
  • Track customer MQC trends and communicate performance with customers and sales representatives.
  • Prepare quotes/contracts for filing ensuring proper contract construction for FMC filing.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for LISA-related support and provide training to end users.
  • Perform customer onboarding and validation processes for newly signed contracts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience required, preferably in inside sales, sales, or customer service.
  • Minimum 1 year transportation industry experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to establish priorities and organize time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of commercial and financial jargon of international trade.
  • Experience with CRM systems, particularly LISA.
