About the position

The Sales Development Representative at Gunton Corporation is responsible for supporting the sales team through outbound cold calling, scheduling appointments for Outside Sales Representatives, and achieving individual and team performance metrics. This entry-level position is designed to promote growth within the company, with the potential for advancement to an Outside Sales Representative role within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a minimum of 80 outbound calls/touchpoints per day.
  • Manage the input of information into the Gunton customer account management system for accurate records.
  • Develop extensive product and process knowledge to navigate the sales process effectively.
  • Conduct research to fill call schedules, including identifying accounts and contact information.
  • Prepare a 'Value Proposition' for customers to explain how Gunton can enhance their profitability.
  • Accompany outside sales staff to learn field sales processes and techniques.
  • Visit permit offices monthly to inquire about new building permits issued.
  • Exhibit high standards of personal ethics and adhere to company policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry sales tools weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous sales experience or sales internship experience.
  • Experience with cold calling as a form of business development.
  • College degree.
