The Sales Development Representative position at Breakthru Beverage Group is designed as a dynamic sales development role that involves rotating through various territories. The primary focus of this role is to fill in open territories as needed, thereby maximizing the sales of supplier brands to the trade. This position may also require assistance to the Merchandising Department during peak merchandising periods, ensuring that the company’s products are effectively represented in the market. In this role, the Sales Development Representative will be responsible for establishing and maintaining efficient routing patterns while calling on accounts and covering daily routes. This includes preparing and delivering professional sales presentations that balance the company's priorities with the customer's needs. The representative will engage in selling display ideas, introducing new products, and managing placements and resets of products in various locations such as cold boxes, shelves, back bars, and drink and wine lists. Additionally, maintaining product levels in accounts through inventory management and restocking is a critical aspect of the job, ensuring that products are readily available to customers. The representative will also be tasked with ensuring maximum brand visibility within accounts by utilizing effective point of sale materials. Collecting payments and delivering checks or other remittances from accounts where legally permissible is another key responsibility. Educating account staff through training seminars on the brands is essential to enhance product knowledge and sales effectiveness. The role requires strategizing and preplanning to achieve sales and merchandising objectives, which involves understanding company pricing and product programming information on a monthly basis, as well as maintaining accurate historical account purchase information. Furthermore, the Sales Development Representative will ensure compliance with national account requirements by completing necessary surveys accurately. The position demands a thorough understanding of account buying patterns and the ability to meet performance goals set by management, including distribution, volume, and activity goals for supplier brands. Managing customer account receivables through timely processing of credits and returns, along with effective communication regarding aged receivables, is also part of the role. Staying informed about company and supplier activities by participating in weekly sales meetings is crucial for success in this position. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor as needed, making this a versatile and engaging role within the sales team.
