About the position

The Sales Development Representative is responsible for selling supplier products and providing value-added services to retail accounts. This role involves maintaining inventory levels, promoting product sales, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards through scheduled account visits and effective communication with various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain retail call frequency and follow a structured selling process.
  • Manage inventory levels and restock displays as needed.
  • Sell in new brands and packages to support product sell-through.
  • Complete required paperwork such as point sheets and expense reports.
  • Establish and monitor quality control standards for product freshness.
  • Communicate with all company departments as necessary.
  • Make daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using sales data tools.
  • Assist with delivery and complete required merchandising as necessary.
  • Comply with all supplier standards and local regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate required.
  • One year of beverage/consumer goods selling or merchandising experience.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed.
  • Technologically proficient, including familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to pass a required pre-employment background and drug screening.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal liquor laws.
  • Highly self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent customer orientation with strong verbal and written communication skills.
