About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at OpenGov plays a crucial role in driving the company's mission to enhance government operations through innovative cloud-based solutions. This position involves engaging with potential customers in the public sector, utilizing advanced sales tools, and collaborating with Account Executives to generate leads and set appointments. The SDR will undergo comprehensive training to master customer interactions and contribute to the company's record-breaking growth in the SaaS market.

Responsibilities

  • Embark on an onboarding process to master customer conversations and product knowledge.
  • Make strategic cold calls, craft compelling emails, and leverage social media to connect with potential leads.
  • Engage with prospects to build authentic connections and showcase OpenGov's solutions.
  • Conduct in-depth research to identify decision-makers and navigate organizational structures.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to develop prospecting strategies and campaigns.
  • Maintain meticulous records of prospecting activities and customer interactions in CRM systems.
  • Exceed monthly and quarterly targets to generate qualified leads and set appointments.
  • Continuously update product knowledge and stay informed about industry trends.

Requirements

  • 6 months to 3 years of experience in a sales role, preferably in a technology environment.
  • Experience in B2B, SaaS, tech recruitment, finance, budgeting, or accounting is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and quantifiable wins.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade over the phone.
  • Ambitious and driven to achieve goals and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Prior experience with cold calling and participation in sales Bootcamps is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales prospecting tools is beneficial.
  • A mission-driven mindset with a desire to make a positive impact in the public sector.
