About the position

InfluxData is the creator of InfluxDB, the leading time series platform used to collect, store, and analyze all time series data at any scale. Developers can query and analyze their time-stamped data in real-time to discover, interpret, and share new insights to gain a competitive edge. InfluxData is a remote-first company with a globally distributed workforce. Our sales team is growing at InfluxData, and we're now looking for a Sales Development Representative to join our NorAm Sales Team! As a Sales Development Representative, you will be a key player in our sales strategy, focusing on generating interest from new prospects. You are a hunter at heart, relishing the challenge of finding creative ways to secure interest from potential clients. Your role will involve researching new accounts to create a strong point of view on the value InfluxDB could bring to their DevOps, IoT, AI, or Data Science use cases. You will be responsible for creating a high volume and high-quality output of daily outbound outreach into senior-level contacts within your assigned target accounts to generate qualified new business meetings for your Account Executives (AEs). You will engage with contacts through various channels including email, phone, social media, and video, passionately articulating how InfluxDB can make a significant difference to new customers. Nurturing prospects from early-stage interest through to becoming a qualified lead will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. This position requires a strong competitive spirit, grit, hustle, and persistence, as well as a collaborative mindset to support your team and ideate continuously. The application window for this position will remain open until at least November 15, 2024, and may stay online based on business needs, which could be before or after the specified date.

Responsibilities

  • Researching new accounts to create a strong point of view as to the value InfluxDB could bring to their DevOps, IoT, AI or Data Science use cases.
  • Creating a high volume & high quality output of daily outbound outreach into senior level contacts within your assigned target accounts to generate qualified new business meetings for your AEs.
  • Engaging with contacts through email, phone, social and video.
  • Passionately articulating how InfluxDB can make a major difference to new customers.
  • Nurturing prospects from early stage interest through to becoming a qualified lead.

Requirements

  • +2 years of Sales Development Representative (SDR) experience.
  • Track record of top 10% performance and attainment.
  • A passion for technology and a technical aptitude to master sales tools.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, able to talk to all levels at an organization.
  • Demonstrable history of meeting or exceeding a new business meetings quota.
  • Experience with Outreach/SalesLoft/Lavender/Lusha/ZoomInfo/LinkedIn SalesNav.
  • Experience using ChatGPT / Google Gemini to create compelling prospecting emails.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hunger to succeed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling open source/SaaS.
  • Experience working for a startup / growth stage technology company.
  • Prior MEDDIC and/or Command of the Message training.
  • Experience in NoSQL data technologies or other modern data platforms.
  • Experience selling enterprise management solutions (Systems Management, Cloud Management, log analytics, APM, Network Monitoring).
