OpenGov is seeking a passionate and driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our newly established team in Plano, Texas. As an SDR, you will play a crucial role in our mission to empower local and state governments by providing them with innovative cloud solutions that enhance accountability and efficiency. Your work will directly impact small business owners, infrastructure safety, and disaster recovery efforts, making a meaningful difference in communities across the nation. In this position, you will not only be achieving sales targets but also contributing to a dynamic team that is breaking records and driving market change. Our SDR team is equipped with the latest tools and insights, including Salesforce.com, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Outreach, to help you connect with potential customers and demonstrate the value of OpenGov's offerings. You will be part of a best-in-class sales development academy designed to launch your career, with a significant percentage of our Account Executive, Customer Success, and Sales Engineering roles filled by SDRs. Responsibilities

  • Make a high volume of sales calls to potential customers.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, demonstrating strong phone skills.
  • Manage an independent workload while maintaining a team-centric attitude.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills creatively to overcome challenges.
  • Display strong interpersonal skills through active listening and effective communication.
  • Handle objections with persistence and drive to work past resistance.
  • Embrace a consultative sales approach by asking the right questions to understand client needs.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of achieving sales results.
  • Willingness to be coached and driven towards success.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • High energy, passion, humor, and enthusiasm for the role.
  • 1+ year of direct sales experience, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com and LinkedIn is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a SaaS environment.
  • Previous work in government or public sector sales.
