About the position

As a Sales Development Representative at Univar Solutions, you will play a crucial role in engaging with incoming leads generated by our marketing team. Your primary responsibility will be to qualify these leads, document relevant information, and uncover additional sales opportunities. Once you have thoroughly qualified and explored these leads, you will assign them to the appropriate Sales Representative within the organization, who will then work to build customer relationships and close sales opportunities. This position is essential for driving our sales efforts and ensuring that we effectively capitalize on the leads generated through various marketing initiatives. In this role, you will develop and qualify new leads by actively engaging with incoming inquiries driven from marketing campaigns, as well as supplier leads that are delivered to the team via phone, email, and the internet. You will also be responsible for cold-calling and conducting email prospecting efforts within a base of former customers or lists provided from new marketing efforts aligned with our campaigns. Your ability to research and scrub leads will be vital for identifying existing customers and routing them accordingly. You will identify multiple prospect contacts and explore various products with purchase potential among new prospects. Additionally, you will be expected to understand, promote, and support the adaptation of team tools, suggesting any gaps that may exist. Embracing technical tools for research and logging interactions, such as Salesforce, Tableau, and SAP, will be a key part of your daily activities. You will enter all leads into our systems, identify existing customers, find relevant products, and document opportunities, consumptions, notes, and tasks to ensure a smooth workflow and effective follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and qualify new leads by engaging incoming leads driven from marketing campaigns.
  • Conduct cold-calling and email prospecting efforts within a base of former customers or lists provided from new marketing efforts.
  • Research and scrub leads for identification of existing customers and route accordingly.
  • Identify multiple prospect contacts and products with purchase potential with new prospects.
  • Understand, promote, and support adaptation of team tools and suggest tool gaps.
  • Embrace technical tools for research and logging of interactions such as Salesforce, Tableau, and SAP.
  • Enter all leads, identify existing customers, find products, and document opportunities, consumptions, notes, and tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 1-3 years of experience in phone-based lead generation, inside sales, and/or business development activities.
  • Ability to prospect and qualify potential customers optimally via email and phone.
  • Outstanding phone skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office is helpful.
  • Strong Internet research skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and strong organizational skills to handle a diverse and significant workload.
