About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at GMI plays a crucial role in driving the company's sales efforts by prospecting, qualifying, and generating new sales leads. This position is designed for a highly motivated and self-starting individual who can identify and develop new business prospects from various sources. The SDR will engage in outbound calls, respond to inbound marketing leads, utilize prospect lists, conduct individual research, and set up targeted email campaigns to reach potential clients. A dynamic personality with a strong drive to connect with decision-makers is essential for success in this role. The SDR will work closely with the National Sales Manager and the veteran sales team to develop effective sales strategies and campaigns. In this role, the SDR will be responsible for managing data related to new and prospective clients within the company's CRM platform. This includes ensuring that all communications are logged, information is accurate, and relevant documents are attached. The SDR will also prepare and analyze sales pipeline reports and dashboards to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Collaboration with the marketing team is key to enhancing traffic and lead generation from the GMI website. As the SDR gains knowledge about the products and services offered by GMI, there is potential for career advancement into a Laboratory Instrumentation Sales Consultant position, making this an excellent opportunity for growth within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business via telephone and mass communication such as email and social media to introduce GMI solutions within the target market.
  • Work with the veteran sales team to develop targeted telesales and email campaigns within their territories.
  • Manage data for new and prospective clients in the CRM platform, ensuring all communications are logged, information is accurate, and documents are attached.
  • Prepare and analyze sales pipeline reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to improve traffic and lead generation from the website.
  • Gain knowledge related to the products and services GMI offers.
  • Establish a working knowledge of GMI's instrumentation offering to develop into a Laboratory Instrumentation Sales Consultant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Science or related field.
  • 0-3 years of telemarketing and/or inside sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and/or exceed determined activity quotas.
  • A proven track record of strong client relationships.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite or another CRM Software preferred.
