About the position

The Sales Development Representative is a research-based, lead-generating inside sales role that plays a crucial part in expanding the company's customer base and revenue. This position involves making telephone cold calls, utilizing social networking, and conducting in-person visits as necessary. The representative collaborates closely with Sales Directors to develop customer profiles, generate interest, respond to proposals, and assist in transitioning sales to account managers and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prospects continually for new business opportunities to build a pipeline of qualified potential customers.
  • Identifies key decision makers and determines the appropriate approach for each to drive new sales opportunities.
  • Provides the Sales team with a consistent flow of quality leads.
  • Qualifies leads, generates customer interest, promotes awareness, and develops new leads.
  • Analyzes and maintains customer databases, develops reports and queries to identify outstanding opportunities, and follows up to ensure accuracy of terms, quotes, pricing, and related activity.
  • Prepares research and information to respond to customer requests or proposals, and prepares quotes, reports, and other required information.
  • Develops quotes, proposals, or presentations for customers for management approval and assists with presentations as required.
  • Develops targeted business that aligns with company goals and objectives.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and prepares relevant information for business reviews.
  • Assists Sales Leaders with various projects when requested and performs other incidental duties as required.
  • Develops a deep understanding of company service offerings and value propositions, staying up-to-date on industry trends.
  • Provides assistance in developing marketing and related communications materials for target customers or markets.
  • Manages a portfolio of transactional customers.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including persuasion and negotiation.
