About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Learning Ally plays a crucial role in identifying and creating new qualified sales opportunities within assigned territories. This position involves working closely with Sales Managers and Implementation Success Managers to research potential clients, generate leads, and build brand awareness. The SDR is responsible for conducting outbound calls, educating prospects about Learning Ally's literacy products, and ensuring that sales quotas are met while maintaining high standards of customer interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and create new qualified sales opportunities in Target Accounts through inbound and outbound activities.
  • Independently schedule and conduct an average of 70+ outbound calls per day to ensure quota attainment.
  • Create a sales pipeline with prospects and new opportunities for the sales team.
  • Educate prospective clients on the benefits of Learning Ally's literacy products as necessary.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Audio Book solutions, Excite Reading, and Professional Learning products.
  • Respond, engage, and qualify inbound leads and inquiries.
  • Engage current users to expand awareness and ask for referrals.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on strategic sales approaches and assist with special projects/events.
  • Ensure cold calls and activity quotas are met.
  • Document weekly scheduling in NetSuite and communicate follow-up activity clearly.
  • Ensure all interactions with customers adhere to the organization's standards and integrity.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to profile strategic accounts and present solutions to start the sales cycle.
  • Use consultative sales skills to communicate the value and benefits of Learning Ally products that match customer needs.
  • Develop new opportunities with existing customers by following up on all incoming calls and leads.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of market competitors to overcome objections and advise prospects.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or College degree, BA preferred.
  • Tele sales experience required, preferably in K-12 education industry.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years proven inside sales/tele sales experience.
  • Demonstrated record of success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of social selling.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Positive attitude with high energy and self-confidence.
  • Ability to close sales and meet or exceed sales developmental goals.
  • Proven effectiveness in a successful sales and cold calling environment (minimum of 50 to 75 dials per day).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively to a high volume of people.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
