About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Blackbaud plays a crucial role in generating sales for Prospecting Account Executives (AE's). This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about helping diverse organizations achieve their goals through innovative software solutions. The SDR is responsible for effectively researching, engaging, and connecting prospective customers to the sales team, thereby driving top-of-the-sales-funnel activity and generating a robust sales pipeline. This role is not only about prospecting sales opportunities but also involves collaborating with AEs on targeted lists, planning outreach strategies, and building prospect pools. Given the importance of this role, it is a quota-bearing position, with specific monthly goals for scheduling qualified initial sales meetings (Discovery Calls) and building a pipeline on prospect accounts. In this role, the SDR will contact a high volume of leads daily via phone and email to initiate conversations, present the value of Blackbaud's products and solutions, and qualify prospects for further engagement with an Account Executive. The SDR will conduct thorough research to identify market prospects that fit the ideal customer profile and pinpoint relevant internal company contacts for targeted outreach. By understanding prospects' business needs, the SDR will adapt messaging to highlight how Blackbaud's diverse business solutions can address those needs, while also emphasizing relevant industry trends. The SDR will generate demand for Blackbaud's products through the creation and adaptation of targeted email campaigns aimed at highly relevant audiences. Maintaining accurate outreach records in Salesforce is essential, as is tracking and reporting on individual progress towards monthly and quarterly goals for initial sales meetings and pipeline sourced. Regular meetings with assigned Account Executives will ensure timely communication of outreach activity, successes, and additional areas to target. The SDR will also have access to professional development opportunities, including shadowing, training, and certification in key sales activities, preparing strong performers for advancement into roles such as Account Executives or Account Managers.
