About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Equipment Depot is responsible for identifying and engaging potential customers to drive sales growth. This role serves as the first point of contact for prospects, requiring a strong understanding of the sales process and the ability to build relationships. The SDR will research leads, manage a sales pipeline, and collaborate with the sales team to enhance customer acquisition and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company's products and services, understanding customer needs through research.
  • Generate leads and build relationships with warm prospects and new potential sales outlets.
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects, engaging sales executives for next steps.
  • Identify best practices to refine the company's lead generation process.
  • Increase transactional sales volume for Material Handling Class III ITA Units and related equipment.
  • Increase market awareness through an omnichannel approach including internet research and cold-calling.
  • Utilize Sugar CRM and other tools to generate new sales opportunities.
  • Identify prospect's needs and suggest appropriate products/services.
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market.
  • Set up meetings or calls between prospective customers and Territory Managers.
  • Achieve assigned lead generation and transactional sales quotas on a regular basis.
  • Report results to the Field Sales Manager and collaborate with branch management and sales leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • 2-3 years of sales experience with a history of exceeding lead targets.
  • Strong communication skills via phone and email.
  • Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong desire and ability to advance within a professional sales organization.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and energy to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current, valid driver's license with a relatively clean driving record.
