About the position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) role at DoorDash is a pivotal position within the Outside Sales team, which has been instrumental in establishing and nurturing relationships with local and regional merchants since the company's inception in 2013. This team is dedicated to creating deep partnerships that not only enhance operations but also drive consumer growth and improve the overall bottom line for DoorDash. As an SDR, you will be at the forefront of this initiative, tasked with bringing the best local and regional merchants onto the DoorDash platform. In this role, you will work closely with a team of experienced operators who excel in booking qualified meetings. Your primary responsibility will be to support a specific region and capitalize on all available opportunities within it. The team is focused on laying the groundwork for what is anticipated to be DoorDash's most significant competitive advantage: establishing industry-leading partnership terms with top merchants. You will report directly to the Sales Development Manager, who will provide you with the guidance and support necessary to advance your career. This position is expected to be remote, with the flexibility to travel as needed for in-person collaboration, training sessions, team-building events, and other business-related activities. As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying, contacting, and qualifying key merchants and their decision-makers in your market. You will partner with Account Executives to secure meetings that align with the interests of both DoorDash and the merchant prospects. This role requires a high volume of cold calling (65+ dials per day) and emailing to effectively engage and qualify decision-makers. You will also have the opportunity to refine your sales messaging, prospecting, qualifying, and closing techniques, all while receiving direct support from the Sales Development Manager to foster your growth in this role and your overall career.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, contact, and qualify important merchants and their decision makers in the market.
  • Partner with Account Executives to secure meetings that benefit both DoorDash and merchant prospects.
  • Conduct high-volume cold calling (65+ dials per day) and emailing to access and qualify decision makers.
  • Refine sales messaging, prospecting, qualifying, and closing techniques.

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience in high-volume outbound cold calling.
  • Excellent motivation skills to engage potential partners about the benefits of DoorDash.
  • Creative sales tactics to effectively engage with prospects.
  • Experience in exceeding daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.
  • Ability to navigate sales and internal tools such as Salesforce and Google Apps.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the food delivery or restaurant industry.
