About the position

National Insurance Housing is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead the insurance housing business development sales program. This role is pivotal in driving profitability and requires a strong background in management and sales. The Sales Director will be responsible for operating the sales program effectively, ensuring alignment with National's mission statement, strategic vision, and core values. The individual will provide disciplined, ethical, and focused leadership to the sales team, fostering an environment that promotes success and accountability. In this player/coach role, the Sales Director will not only lead the team but also actively engage in bringing in new accounts. This includes attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent for the sales team, as well as onboarding and coaching new hires. The Director will establish a comprehensive New Hire Program and ensure ongoing education for seasoned team members. Performance management is a key aspect of this role, as the Director will guide the business development team in setting and achieving annual and quarterly goals, collaborating closely with the Finance team to align these goals with the company budget. The Sales Director will drive customer acquisition, client retention, and growth while identifying opportunities for industry expansion. Collaboration with the COO/President is essential to execute a sales strategy that meets and exceeds budgeted revenue and gross profit goals. The Director will also participate directly in closing business deals with insurance carriers and create training materials to support team success. Regular observation and participation in sales opportunities will be necessary to ensure team growth and success, alongside managing day-to-day sales team operations and conducting performance reviews. Additionally, the Sales Director will maintain a high profile within the industry to identify new opportunities and enhance brand awareness. A consistent sales process will be executed to ensure accurate sales forecasting and analysis, and collaboration with the marketing team will be crucial to maintain constant brand visibility. The role may also involve managing other projects to further develop knowledge of the insurance housing business and gain valuable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support and promote National's mission statement, strategic vision, and core values to internal and external customers.
  • Provide disciplined, ethical, and focused leadership.
  • Focus the team on the alignment of sales.
  • Act as a sales player/coach, working on bringing in accounts.
  • Proactively attract, hire, and retain successful additions to the sales team.
  • On-board, coach, and provide professional development to the sales team.
  • Build, develop, and manage a sales team capable of executing sales and service initiatives.
  • Establish and implement a detailed plan for the New Hire Program and continued education for seasoned team members.
  • Responsible for the performance of all business development and associated sales roles.
  • Guide the annual and quarterly goal-setting process for the Business Development team in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Track and report on productivity to established goals weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
  • Drive customer acquisition, client retention, and growth, while identifying industry expansion opportunities.
  • Collaborate with COO/President to execute a sales strategy that supports and exceeds budgeted revenue and gross profit goals.
  • Directly participate in closing business deals with insurance carriers.
  • Create training materials for various team members to ensure success in their roles.
  • Observe and participate in sales opportunities to ensure team growth and success.
  • Coach, train, motivate, and manage performance of the business development team to achieve sales goals.
  • Handle day-to-day sales team management and conduct performance reviews with the business development team.
  • Participate in National's sales initiatives as directed by COO.
  • Maintain a high profile within the industry to identify new opportunities and increase brand awareness.
  • Execute a consistent sales process resulting in accurate sales forecasting and analysis.
  • Collaborate with marketing team, business development team, and COO to ensure constant brand awareness.
  • Manage other projects as assigned to further develop knowledge of the insurance housing business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience with proven success managing financial metrics in a large P&L.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of sales, management, or leadership accountability in insurance housing, relocation, hospitality, property management, corporate housing, multi-unit retail or service business, travel, or real estate.
  • Proven history of success managing both sales and operations focused team members.
  • Must be a fast-paced, independent, motivated self-starter with a drive to succeed.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service and guest resolution skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, Excel, and Accounting/Financial software.

  • Quarterly Performance based bonus potential starting at 7.5% of base salary dependent on achievement of KPI's
