About the position

ABC Sheet Metal, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking a motivated college graduate to join our team as a Sales Engineer. This technical sales position is designed for individuals with engineering experience who can effectively meet customer requirements. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for our customers, interfacing directly with them on a technical level. This role involves addressing existing customer needs and concerns while providing support to the production floor as necessary. Responsibilities include reviewing customer documentation, expediting production jobs, and resolving any issues that may arise during the manufacturing process. In this position, you will be responsible for interpreting blueprints and CAD/CAM work, reviewing and revising specifications, and engaging in reverse engineering. You will also determine the costs associated with materials, labor, and tooling, while managing vendor relationships and outsourcing tasks as needed. Interaction with customer purchasing managers and engineers, as well as supplier representatives, is a key aspect of this role, as you will be obtaining information, pricing, and addressing any issues that may arise. Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with customers on a technical level as their primary point of contact.
  • Service existing customer needs and concerns.
  • Support the production floor as needed.
  • Review customer documentation and expedite production jobs.
  • Solve issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Interpret blueprints and perform CAD/CAM work.
  • Review and revise specifications and engage in reverse engineering.
  • Determine costs of materials, labor, and tooling.
  • Manage vendor relationships and outsourcing tasks.
  • Interact with customer purchasing managers and engineers to obtain information and pricing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Solidworks 3D CAD/CAM is required; knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and/or MasterCAM is a plus.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, machining, and production environments is preferred.
  • Remote work is not possible for this position.
