The Sales Engineer will play a significant role in the New Product Commercialization process, promoting the utilization of both new and existing technologies, products, and services to meet customer needs. The goal is to leverage the company's capabilities to penetrate additional markets and drive growth. In this role, the Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying and solving systemic problems, acting as the go-to person for technical expertise and solutions. Building strong relationships based on trust and accountability is essential, as the Sales Engineer will need to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to address customer challenges. The position requires a proactive approach to developing and maintaining relationships with customers to understand their future market needs and preferences. The Sales Engineer will also be tasked with researching and documenting new technologies that could assist in the division's growth. This includes developing business models that encompass projected sales, market penetration, gross margins, risk analysis, and overall business feasibility. Additionally, the role involves maintaining a comprehensive technical knowledge of the group/divisional products, applications, features, advantages, and benefits, as well as keeping abreast of competitive products and market activities. Regular reporting to management on market changes and competitive activities is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and generate new business opportunities for a major program, product line, market segment, and technology.
  • Work with current and potential aftermarket customers and end users to promote the utilization of new and existing technologies.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to gain knowledge of future market and customer needs.
  • Research and document new technologies that may assist in the growth of the division.
  • Develop business models for new technologies, including projected sales and market penetration.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products and competitive products.
  • Assist divisions in planning strategies to provide required products and services for assigned accounts.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of response strategies to market changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years related technical experience.
  • Program management experience from business model development through design and implementation processes.
  • Innovative and creative background with proven capabilities.
  • Strong customer service mentality and a proven track record in customer relations.
  • Ability to develop solutions to customer problems and translate them into business development strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically overnight 50% to 75% of the time.
