About the position

HTS Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Sales Engineer Co-op to join our team in Peabody, MA. As the largest independent commercial HVAC manufacturers' representative in North America, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the success of all stakeholders involved in HVAC system selection, design, purchase, installation, and maintenance. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the HVAC industry. The ideal candidate will possess a high technical aptitude and a passion for sales, demonstrating grit and perseverance in challenging conventional approaches. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment, engaging with various stakeholders including suppliers, customers, and coworkers. You will be part of a small team of experienced engineers, providing you with an independent work environment that fosters learning and development. The co-op will expose you to the construction industry, including the bid & spec and design-build procurement processes, as well as the roles of various participants in the construction process such as owners, developers, project managers, architects, consulting engineers, general contractors, and manufacturers. You will also gain insights into HVAC systems and equipment, as well as low-carbon building solutions. This position is not just about learning; it is also about building relationships and developing a genuine and cooperative sales approach. You will have the chance to become a candidate for a full-time outside salesperson role, which can lead to significant financial rewards and the opportunity for early financial independence. Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers and suppliers to build relationships and understand their needs.
  • Learn about HVAC systems and equipment, including low-carbon building solutions.
  • Participate in the bid & spec and design-build procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers in a small team environment.
  • Demonstrate a genuine and cooperative sales approach to clients.

Requirements

  • High technical aptitude and a desire to learn and become an expert in HVAC systems.
  • Strong sales skills with a passion for selling and perseverance.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and enthusiasm for success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficiency in basic MS software and ability to learn new software quickly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience or knowledge in the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and equipment.
