About the position

The Sales Engineer position at Henkel is a remote-based role focused on servicing existing Metal Coil and industrial customer accounts primarily in Missouri and Kentucky. The role emphasizes account management, technical sales support, and business growth within the assigned territory, aiming to capture new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts to achieve year-on-year growth in sales and profitability.
  • Formulate and execute written account strategies and forecasts, assessing market conditions and competitive intelligence.
  • Perform timely and accurate tasks supporting account strategy, including product qualification and implementation, forecast updates, and project management.
  • Continuously update professional selling and leadership skills, maintaining in-depth knowledge of Henkel products and their applications.
  • Coordinate with technical service/applications engineering for customer trials and issue resolution.
  • Execute local sales plans aligned with SBU strategy to maintain and develop customer relationships.
  • Manage and close growth opportunities using the CRM tool (ACE).
  • Implement pricing actions as necessary.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business, Chemistry, Engineering or related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical sales, laboratory, or manufacturing experience with a proven record of results.
  • Working knowledge of metal pretreatment, coil wet section, or paint finishing operations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of automated control equipment and high-speed manufacturing operations is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel regionally, up to 70%, depending on the location of the home-based office.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
