About the position

As a Sales Engineer focused on Trimble's AppXchange Integration Platform, you will play a crucial role in delivering cutting-edge technical solutions to the commercial construction industry. This position is integral to the sales team, providing pre-sale technical software solution demonstrations and ensuring that Trimble's enterprise-level software solutions are accurately represented to clients across the United States and abroad. You will be responsible for conducting inspirational presentations, complex prototype demonstrations, and providing follow-up support throughout the sales process. Your expertise will help the sales team address individual client questions and concerns effectively, ensuring that the solutions presented align with their business needs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the sales management team and members of the North American, EMEA, and APAC direct and customer sales teams. Your responsibilities will include consulting with prospects to determine the best software solutions for their business, utilizing your extensive software and industry knowledge to present critical success factors that validate the software solutions offered. You will also be tasked with creating complex client-specific cross-application prototype presentations and assisting with various demonstration-deployment strategies across Trimble's Project Management workflow solutions. Your consulting expertise will be essential in understanding and addressing the needs of executives, such as CIOs and IT Directors, while providing construction industry insights to facilitate sales. You will work directly with the AppXchange marketplace team and product development teams, documenting process gaps, product issues, and reporting requirements. Additionally, you will maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for Trimble Construction One workflow solutions and help manage the master software presentation library and sales tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sale technical software solution demonstrations to support the sales team.
  • Conduct inspirational presentations and complex prototype demonstrations for clients.
  • Assist with follow-up support during the sales process to address client questions and concerns.
  • Consult with prospects to determine the best software solutions for their business needs.
  • Document and solve critical business issues through the discovery process.
  • Create complex client-specific cross-application prototype presentations.
  • Assist with demonstration-deployment strategies across Trimble Project Management workflow solutions.
  • Provide consulting expertise to executives in the construction industry.
  • Collaborate with the AppXchange marketplace team and product development teams to document process gaps and product issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of Trimble Construction One workflow solutions and manage the master software presentation library.

Requirements

  • Experience with software implementation consulting or software support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with JavaScript; C# experience is a plus.
  • Ability to navigate undefined situations and business process challenges.
  • Ability to document product functionality requirements and desired workflow outcomes.
  • Preferably experience in a pre-sales role, ideally as a sales engineer or in a customer success role.
  • Extensive construction industry experience, specifically focused on API and software integration.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated good judgment in undefined situations.
  • Ability to effectively present and explain information to various group sizes and levels of knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to listen effectively and seek feedback.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a pre-sales role or customer success role is preferred.
