About the position

As a Sales Engineer II at Vanderlande Industries, you will collaborate closely with the Sales Manager and the sales team to facilitate successful project sales during the pre-contract phase. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze customer needs and develop effective sales concepts, providing solutions to complex technical and business challenges. You will lead the creation of competitive quotations and play a key role in the transition to operations and project implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Sales Manager and sales team on project pre-contract activities.
  • Identify and analyze customer needs to develop successful sales concepts.
  • Provide solutions for complex technical and business issues, particularly in data and process analyses.
  • Lead the creation of competitive, high-quality quotations.
  • Consult with clients to determine the best solutions for their needs.
  • Involve in the handover phase to operations and project implementation on site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with complex sales processes, preferably in the automated material handling industry.
  • Strong analytical skills to create concept solutions based on customer logistics processes.
  • Exceptional data analysis and preparation skills.
  • Experience estimating costs and pricing for large complex projects.
  • Ability to understand equipment use and assist in its selection and specification.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in commonly used computer software.
  • Well-developed influencing skills, both internal and external.
  • Strong communication skills with a creative approach to building client relationships.
  • Experience working in an international professional environment, preferably in a project organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using 3D modeling tools and common business software.
  • Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial international organization.
