About the position

The Account Manager position at Ohlheiser Corporation involves engaging with both repeat and new customers to identify and provide suitable products from the Ohlheiser portfolio for their projects. This role is focused on the sales of Controls and Pneumatics components, which are sourced from leading manufacturers such as SMC, Epson, Gast, Baumer, Panasonic, Lenze, and Turck. The Account Manager will be responsible for business-to-business sales, meaning the focus will be on corporate clients rather than individual consumers. In this role, the Account Manager will work closely with customers to address any issues that may arise with their current business operations, ensuring that they receive the best possible solutions tailored to their needs. The position requires the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with key personnel in customer organizations, including those in purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and management. The Account Manager will also be tasked with developing and implementing sales strategies in collaboration with management to meet predetermined annual sales targets. This includes securing orders through various means such as in-person visits, phone calls, and video conferencing via MS Teams. Regular travel within the specified New England territory is required to maintain contact with existing customers and to consult with potential clients, ensuring that Ohlheiser Corporation remains a trusted partner in their automation needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential customers while servicing and maintaining existing customer relationships to increase market penetration.
  • Establish professional relationships with key customer personnel including purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and management.
  • Secure orders from existing and potential customers through facility visits, phone calls, and MS Teams video calls.
  • Develop sales strategies in conjunction with management to sell applicable product lines and services, implementing these strategies to achieve annual sales targets.
  • Visit customer facilities to maintain contact and consult to secure sales from existing and potential customers.
  • Analyze and research information to respond to customer inquiries regarding product features, performance, application, substitution, and special requests.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business-to-business sales, preferably in the industrial automation or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional relationships with customers.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet sales targets.
  • Experience in analyzing customer needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Willingness to travel within the specified New England territory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with automation components and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Technical background in engineering or a related field.
