About the position

The Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in customer development and technical solution creation within a company specializing in precision CNC machining. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to understand customer needs, provide technical consultation, and ensure alignment with manufacturing capabilities. The Sales Engineer will engage directly with customers to build trust and foster long-term partnerships, contributing to the growth of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain conversations with customers to understand their needs and propose technical solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, translating their needs into feasible machining solutions.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to develop tailored solutions for customer projects.
  • Provide detailed technical input to support accurate job estimates, including materials, timelines, and production resources.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Account Manager to develop and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Partner with internal teams to standardize and improve quoting, estimating, and production processes.
  • Keep up-to-date with CNC machining advancements and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical sales, engineering, or manufacturing role, with CNC machining experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in quoting and estimating jobs in a machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and the Account Manager.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of ITAR, AS9100, or similar regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems for tracking sales processes.
  • Experience working in growing businesses or startups.
