The Sales Engineer position at a prominent player in the engineering and high-tech manufacturing sector is a critical role that serves as the main point of contact for clients. This position involves a combination of technical expertise and sales acumen, focusing on B2B interactions to drive sales growth and maintain a robust customer base. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for forecasting sales and expanding the customer base within a designated territory. This includes engaging with current and potential customers, such as engineers and designers, to demonstrate the desirability and practicality of the company's products and services. In this role, the Sales Engineer will support distribution sales growth through various means, including training, joint marketing efforts, and goal setting. A significant part of the job involves reviewing customer drawings and plans to prepare accurate cost estimates and engineered products. The Sales Engineer will also provide technical support related to the operation of motors, drives, and other related products, ensuring that clients receive the necessary assistance to optimize their use of these technologies. The position requires the preparation and presentation of customer quotations, training sessions, seminars, and special reports as directed. Additionally, the Sales Engineer will collaborate with Accounts Receivables to manage delinquent payments and will be responsible for submitting regular sales reports. Sharing market information with other departments is also a key responsibility, as is participating in the Sales Engineer Certification Program to enhance technical knowledge of the products offered. After-sale support is a crucial aspect of this role, which includes system setup, programming and testing of stepper and servo motor driver/controllers, and troubleshooting to optimize system performance. The Sales Engineer will also be involved in preparing technical articles for monthly newsletters and setting up demonstration units for on-site demonstrations and trade shows.
